R&B singer Ne-Yo puts respect over cash!
The “Beautiful Nightmare” singer recently revealed in an interview with MTV that he had been writing songs for the late Pop idol Michael Jackson before his death and even sent him three or four drafts a week while he was on tour. But has now decided to not sell the tracks or even use them himself out of respect for MJ.
The singer/songwriter told MTV:
“I can’t sell them on to someone else, as that would be disrespectful, but I also think it might be disrespectful to bring them out myself. So I don’t know, I’ll sit on them and wait. It’s definitely quality music but they were songs written absolutely for Michael Jackson. Hopefully the songs will see the light of day, it just has to be the right way.”
Big-ups to Ne-Yo for that one! There are some things you just don’t touch…
YouTube announced yesterday that it has increased the time limit on uploaded videos from 10 minutes to 15 minutes for members that are not partners with the video-sharing website. They claim that they have beefed up their copyright protection tools and since copyright holders will have more control over their content, it’ll be less likely that users can upload “large chunks” of content without permission.
The 29-year-old superstar — real name Clifford Harris Jr. — swapped I Do’s with his longtime 35-year-old girlfriend Tameka “Tiny” Cottle.
R&B legend Aaron Hall has decided to speak out against the current status of R&B.
In an interview with CarltonJordan.com, Hall touched on his feelings about the self-proclaimed “King of R&B” R. Kelly and states that Kellz may have stolen his style, but he can’t touch his swagger.
“I know a lot of people out there are saying that R. Kelly stole my style,” Hall said. “But remember he can’t touch my swagger. I got that old school swag, that 80′s swag and ain’t nobody touching that.”
Kellz wasn’t the only one that Hall went after in the interview, Hall also sent a word of advice to newly separated singer The Dream.
“What he did to his wife wasn’t right,” Hall continued. “But as far as music goes, he needs to lose some weight. He writes good songs but he definitely needs to slim down and I hope he sees this.”

Montana Fishburne, daughter of superstar actor Laurence Fishburne, has began throwing that thing back on film using the name Chippy D, and feels her “career” can take off by shooting porn. Crickets…umm, pops can’t be proud of this one. The daughter of a theolgian trained actor feels she can get her big break by shooting films with porn star ‘Brian Pumper’…smh. I don’t see this turning out too well. When asked how she got this idea, she stated…brace yourself…
“I’ve watched how successful Kim Kardashian became and I think a lot of it was due to the release of her sex tape.”
If only this defibrillator toaster concept were real, I could scream, “I NEED 50 CCs of butter, stat,” every morning without looking like a total lunatic.
Singers Usher and Chris Brown are BFFs now it seems, and now they’re making music together!
Reggae Sumfest organizer Johnny Gourzong talked about how much he enjoyed having Usher headline International Night 2 of the annual Jamaican music festival Saturday night (Jul 24), and said that the R&B singer’s performance last weekend would go down as one of the best in the history of the event, which is celebrating its 18th year. He also revealed that Usher and Chris Brown recorded a song together at a studio in Montego Bay that very same weekend.
